To promote environmental management,
Nitta obtained ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System)
certification in March 2001.
Nitta tries to save energy and resources, reduce wastes
and reduce volatile organic compounds, including toluene,
to protect the global environment. |

To continuously improve the quality of
our products, Nitta obtained ISO 9001 (Quality Management
System) certification in June of 1998.
Nitta is promoting activities to enhance customer satisfaction
by continuously improving the quality of planning, development,
manufacturing and sales of products as a niche-leader
company. |

To reduce occupational
hazards, Nitta has performed several activities,
including hazard prediction, first-aid suggestions,
safety patrol and 5S activities-"seiri"
(organization), "seiton" (tidiness),
"seiso" (cleaning), "seiketsu"
(neatness), and "shitsuke" (good
manners)". In addition, in April 2003,
Nitta began efforts to obtain OHSAS 18001
(Occupational Health and Safety Assessment
Series) certification to strengthen the company
safety and hygiene promotion system and to
step up safety and hygiene activities.
The third party inspection was finished in
December 2003. Finally, Nitta obtained "OHSAS
18001" certification in January 2004. |

Nitta built in the premises of its Nara
Plant a course for "park golf", which is popular
in Hokkaido. The park golf course is open to people in
the community.
This "Nara Nitta Forest Park Golf Club" was
opened on May 20, 1997 as the 30th official park golf
course accredited by the International Park Golf Association.
Park golf players use special clubs and balls according
to almost same rules as those of ordinary golf. The special
ball does not carry so far, so there is little risk; thus,
everyone from children to elderly people can enjoy together.
When the park golf course was first opened, we were afraid
that people in the community might not participate in
park golf because it was quite new to Kansai people. However,
the park golf course is often used for recreation by the
senior club of the community and by other groups. It is
so crowded on holidays that queues form in front of the
course.
If you visit neighbors around the course, please visit
the course and give it a try. |
